STEP file
Definition
A STEP file stores the exact, mathematical shape of a 3D model instead of a triangle approximation. That makes it editable and dimensionally accurate.
It's ideal for technical parts that may need changes later, and it's the standard format for exchanging models between CAD programs. If you want a part you may want to modify in future, ask for a STEP.
